The casting competition this year will be a modified American Casting Association’s 5wt. game. Our targets will be larger. This popular competition was held at the Conclave in West Yellowstone and it is easy to practice for; everyone has a 5wt. rod. Five wt. lines with a 2X 7.5 leader will be loaded on three 5wt. rods for this accuracy and distance event. The caster chooses one outfit for their try in both accuracy and distance. The accuracy will consist of 5 rings with a bull's eye ring in each one. They will be placed from 20 to 45 feet with one bonus target at 60 ft. One attempt per ring is scored. Each caster will have a total of 5 minutes. Following the accuracy, cast can be made for distance with the time remaining; the longest cast counts. You may review the exact competition at the American Casting Association web site.
